SCOPE OF COVERAGE AND RISKS COVERED
Insurance is provided for breeding, dairy and male fattening cattle and buffalos registered to Agriculture and Forestry Ministry’s Registration System, according to the result of the risk assessment.
With regard to the cattle covered by this insurance, death, obligatory slaughter, abortion and death of calf losses arising from below risks are covered within the scope of Tariffs & Instructions.
The risks below may optionally be covered with an additional premium.
a) Foot and Mouth Disease: Material damages directly incurred to the insured as a result of deaths, compulsory slaughter, abortion and baby death due to foot-and-mouth disease, provided that all insurable animals in the enterprise are insured in enterprises that have a certificate of disease-free and have taken bio-security measures (Foot-and-mouth disease coverage is not provided in the provinces of Edirne, Tekirdağ, Kırklareli and the districts on the European side of Istanbul and Çanakkale provinces, which are vaccinated-free zones),
b) Theft: At the insured place specified in the policy; direct damages to the insured animals arising from theft or attempted theft due to the following reasons and direct damages to the insured animals arising from theft or attempted theft during the transport of the insured animals between the facility at the address specified in the policy and the pasture or pastures notified by the insured and accepted by the Agricultural Insurance Pool;
c) Terror: 3713 numbered Anti-Terrorism Law specified in the terrorist acts and sabotage arising from these acts and interventions made by the authorised bodies in order to prevent them and reduce their effects, as a result of deaths, compulsory slaughter, abortion and baby death as a direct result of the insured material damages.
ç) Strikes, lock-outs, riots or civil commotions: Material damages incurred directly to the insured as a result of deaths, obligatory slaughter, abortion and offspring death arising from the incidents occurring during the strikes, lockouts or civil commotions and from the interventions performed by the authorized bodies in order to prevent such incidents and mitigate impacts thereof.
Narrow Scope Tariffs: It is offered with 2 options as Narrow Scope -1 and Narrow Scope -2.
In Narrow Scope-1 Tariff:
In Narrow Scope-1 tariff, it is compulsory to insure all animals in the enterprise, regardless of gender and age.
With this insurance, the material damages directly incurred to the insured due to the deaths and compulsory slaughter of the insured cattle caused by the following reasons are covered within the framework of the General Terms and Conditions, Tariff, and Instructions:
a) All kinds of accidents, wild animal attacks, snake and insect bites,
b) Poisonings,
c) All kinds of natural disasters and sunstroke,
ç) Fire or explosion
In Narrow Scope-2 Tariff:
With this insurance, only female animals aged 20 months and over in the enterprise are insured.
It covers the financial loss directly incurred by the insured as a result of the deaths and compulsory slaughter of the insured cattle due to the following reasons:
a) Abortion
b) All kinds of accidents, wild animal attacks, snake and insect bites,
c) Poisoning due to toxic meadow grasses and feed,
ç)All kinds of natural disasters and sunstroke,
d) Fire or explosion.
In addition,optionally and on the condition that an additional premium is received according to the evaluation or risk review result;
a) Thetf: Direct damages to the insured animals caused by theft or attempted theft at the insured place specified in the policy due to the following reasons, and direct damages to the insured animals caused by theft or attempted theft during the transport of the insured animals between the facility at the address specified in the policy and the pasture or pastures notified by the insured and accepted by the Agricultural Insurance Pool;
b) Terror: Material damages directly incurred to the insured as a result of deaths, compulsory slaughter, abortion and offspring deaths as a result of terrorist acts specified in the Anti-Terrorism Law No. 3713 and sabotage arising from these acts and interventions made by the authorised bodies in order to prevent them and reduce their effects,
c) Strikes, lockouts, riots or public movements: Material damages directly incurred by the insured as a result of deaths, compulsory slaughter, abortion and offspring deaths as a result of events occurring during strikes, lockouts, riots or public movements and interventions made by authorised bodies to prevent these events and reduce their effects
POLICY ISSUANCE
In order to insure his / her cattle, registered to Agriculture and Forestry Ministry’s Registration System, the farmer shall apply to the insurance company or agency that is a member of the Agricultural Insurance Pool (TARSİM). Following the registration of the preliminary information form, which is edited by the policy holder / insured, to the system; Agricultural Insurance Pool (TARSİM) initiates the risk assessment organization. According to the result of the risk assessment, the insurance company or agency establish the policy in the system in accordance with the General Conditions and Tariffs & Instructions of State Supported Cattle Insurance. For the issued policy, Clarification Text, Policy Information Form and Policy printouts within the scope of the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) are sent by TARSİM to our insureds as SMS or e-mail, depending on their preference. In case the insured prefers to take the printed policy; the agency takes the Clarification Text, Policy Information Form and Policy printouts within the scope of the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) from the system in two copies and gives one copy to the insured in return for his/her signature. Then the agency issues the policy as two copies and hand out the one to the policy holder / insured.
Premium Payment
In Cattle Insurance, 50% of the premium written in the policy and 60% of the Premium written in Narrow Scope-2 Tariff are subsidized by Government. 25% of the premium to be paid by the insured is taken in advance, the remaining premium is collected in maximum 5 installments.
Claim Notification / Loss Adjustment / Payment Process
In case a risk, which is covered by this insurance, occurred; policy holder / insured shall make the claim notification is made to ALO TARSİM 172, 24 hours as of the date of the risk occurrence. Also, policy holder / insured could make the claim notification through TARSİM Mobile application, BİP, TARSİM WEB regardless of time and place.
In Cattle Insurance, Veterinary loss adjuster, who is appointed by Agricultural Insurance Pool, shall control the damaged animals within the shortest time, makes the necessary examinations and prepares the Cattle Insurance Loss Report. Following the completion of the loss file, finalized indemnity amounts are paid to the insured by the Agricultural Insurance Pool (TARSİM) via the bank channel within 30 days at the latest.
