Greenhouse Insurance

SCOPE OF COVERAGE AND COVERED RISKS

With this insurance; in accordance with the registration systems determined by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, which are registered and deemed appropriate for insurance as a result of risk assessment.

a) For greenhouses; material damages directly caused by hail, storm, whirlwind, fire, earthquake, vehicle impact, landslide, flood, snow weight risks to the cover, structure, technical equipment and products inside the greenhouses are covered up to the sum insured under the conditions specified in the General Conditions of Greenhouse Insurance and Tariff and Instructions.

b) For high tunnels; according to the result of the risk examination-assessment to be made, the product and its plastic cover are insured against the risks of hail, storm, whirlwind, fire, landslide, vehicle impact, earthquake and flood.

c) For low tunnels; only the crop inside is insured against the risks of hail, hail quality loss, storm, whirlwind, fire, landslide, earthquake, vehicle impact, wild boar, flood, and the risk of frost causing re-sowing and planting, which can be covered optionally for tomato, pepper, aubergine, melon, watermelon crops.

d) In mushroom production facilities, insurance is provided only for mushroom products against risks such as hail, storm, whirlwind, fire, landslide, vehicle impact, earthquake, and flood. Mushroom production facilities, technical equipment, etc., are not covered by this insurance.

e) In the event of the occurrence of one of the risks covered in the policy, the costs of removing, cleaning, and transporting the debris resulting from direct damage to the greenhouse's glass covering material and/or construction value are covered by the debris removal cost coverage, as specified in the tariff and instructions, in paragraph 10 of the "2. Calculation of Indemnity" section.

f) In greenhouses where soilless farming is practiced, quantity losses resulting from damage to technical equipment due to a covered risk and the direct impact on the product are assessed within the scope of the insurance.

POLICY ISSUANCE

In order for the farmer to carry out the insurance operations, must first have updated the greenhouse and crop information of that year in the registration systems determined by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

The farmer, who has updated his/her records, applies to the insurance company or agency that is a member of the Agricultural Insurance Pool (TARSİM) to insure his/her greenhouse. Following the registration of the preliminary information form, which is edited by the policy holder / insured, to the system; Agricultural Insurance Pool (TARSİM) initiates the risk assessment organization. Through the risk assessment, qualifications of the greenhouse to be insured are determined (as a result of the risk assessment, some risks or the whole greenhouse may not be insured) and recorded in the system. The insurance company or agency establish the policy in the system in accordance with the General Conditions and Tariffs & Instructions of State Supported Greenhouse Insurance. For the issued policy, Clarification Text, Policy Information Form and Policy printouts within the scope of the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) are sent by TARSİM to our insureds as SMS or e-mail, depending on their preference. In case the insured prefers to take the printed policy; the agency takes the Clarification Text, Policy Information Form and Policy printouts within the scope of the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) from the system in two copies and gives one copy to the insured in return for his/her signature. Then the agency issues the policy as two copies and hand out the one to the policy holder / insured.

PREMIUM PAYMENT

In Greenhouse Insurance, 50% of the premium written in the policy is subsidized by Government.

25% of the premium to be paid by the insured is taken in advance, the remaining 75% of the premium is collected in installments (for policies issued between 1 August - 31 December, end of May; 1January - 31 July, end of November).

 

CLAIM NOTIFICATION / LOSS ADJUSTMENT / PAYMENT PROCESS

In greenhouse insurance, if a covered risk occurs, the policyholder/insured shall make the claim notification to the Agricultural Insurance Pool (TARSİM) within latest 24 hours of learning of the event, via the call center ALO 172, the TARSİM Mobile Application, the Policy Inquiry/Claim Notification screen on tarsim.gov.tr, or through the agencies.

Loss adjustments are made by the loss adjusters appointed by the Agricultural Insurance Pool (TARSİM). Following the completion of the loss file, finalized indemnity amounts are paid to the insured by the Agricultural Insurance Pool (TARSİM) via the bank channel within 30 days at the latest.

As a result of small and minor tears and/or punctures occurring on the insured soft plastic cover depending on the coverage in the policy; if the Agricultural Insurance Pool expert decides that the cover can be repaired with greenhouse tape, the costs to be incurred for the plastic cover are paid once as 6.500 TL per incident and for the duration of the policy, without applying deductible and coinsurance.

In case insured crop is damaged during an early growing phase, and the Agricultural Insurance Pool expert decides that the same crop or a different crop should be resowed/replanted, the insured will be paid for the sowing/planting and care expenses incurred on the existing crop up to the date of the damage, as specified in the General Conditions and Tariffs & Instructions.
